Work on Agricultural Economics in Sri Lanka
Agricultural trade
We examine how trade policies, market conditions, exchange rates, and global economic changes influence agricultural imports, exports, food security, and farmer livelihoods. Using different quantitative and econometric approaches, this work helps explain how policy decisions affect agricultural markets and why evidence-based trade policy is important for building more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems. More broadly, these projects connect to my interest in sustainable agriculture, farmer well-being, and policy pathways that support food systems and rural communities in Sri Lanka.
